The Winner of the Best North Shore Fish Fry Is...
Residents voted on the local establishment that serves up the best fish fry.
This week North Shore Patches teamed up and asked residents who serves up the best fish fry in the area.
Drum roll please!
The results are in.
Through poll results, Patch and Facebook comments we have determined that Jack Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn has the best fish fry.
Jack Pandl's won the poll results by 27 percent with 69 votes. Shorewood's Hubbard Park Lodge came in second with 54 votes and Holy Family Parish in the Bay came in third with 42.
Three Lions Pub and Oakcrest Tavern receive honorable mentions with 18 and 16 votes respectively.
Note the disclaimer that "because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results, comments and reviews on Patch Places."
Jack Pandl's has been serving quality food and service in Whitefish Bay for 95 years. They offer their fish fry every Friday and special in German cuisine. Click here for more information.
So, congratulations to Jack Pandl's. We'll be running more Reader's Choice polls in the coming weeks, including the best daycare provider in the North Shore next week, so be sure to vote in those as well.

Is this some sort of gimmick to push a new business each week so maybe they'll pay for advertising listing their business as the #1 favorite in the North Shore as voted by Patch readers. Is this going to be a weekly event for all Patch publications?

@Abfab: Call it what you will; we'll do a series of Best Of contests over the next 12 weeks. People generally enjoy these and engage with them. Why not?

W/ 68 votes so far and Jack Pandl's is in the lead..C'mon, you've got to be kidding me. Is the senior sect w/ diminished eyesight and tastebuds >60 yrs. of age flooding the polls today?
I just see this as being a very limiting way to judge the best. Something may end up being the "Best of" in the North Shore, but overall it just may be the best of Mediocre when compared to other establishments that may be a few blocks away but not technically in the North Shore.
I'm just wondering if future "Best Of" categories will include:
Best Grocery Store
Best Spot for a Romantic Dinner
Best Deli
Best Bakery
Best Salon/Mani/Pedi/Massage
Best Burger/fries/shake
Best Custard/froyo
Personally, I'd like to see something off the beaten track:
Best Speed Trap-
In Bayside they always have police parked just off of Fairy Chasm in the lot where you can pick up mulch.
In WFB-
You've got the coppers waiting on Lake Dr. in numerous spots. My favs are just North of Silver Spring and the Curve right before you hit Lexington going N. It's in the Palisades road that they sit & wait on the lookout.
Since we've had a few teens evading police with their automobiles lately, Why not "Best Route To Lose The Police and Ditch The Car".
How about "Best Place For A Romantic Interlude" Those heart shaped beds @ Sybaris take it to a whole new level and being so close to home one can make it back in time for dinner and possibly a 2nd dessert.
Just a few that came to mind

Best place for custard & romantic interlude: Tie--- Pig n' Whistle & The Milky Way; have your interlude and second dessert in the parking lot too.

There's a mistake in the poll--"Johnson's Creek 7" should be "Johnson's Green 7"...

@CowDung: Thanks for the catch. It should now be fixed.

Somebody nominated Baker's Square?

While most of the places on that list were nominated, we figured it was only fair to list all the fish fry establishments we could find in the North Shore Patch communities, and believe it or not, Bakers Square offers a fish fry.

Makes sense. I suppose if you were looking to include only those places that offer a fish fry on Friday's the exclusion of its neighbor, Culver's makes sense, too.

I've heard that Benji's Deli also offers a good fish fry as well...

While I am an avid fan of Baker's -- I would almost consider it a liability to recommend their fish fry.
