Police Report: Stolen Car; Man Punches Woman while She Waits at Bus Stop
A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police log.
A 2007 blue Hyundai Santa Fe SUV was reported stolen sometime overnight on Thursday, while parked on the street in the 3600 block of North Maryland Avenue.
The owner told police she believes the car was locked at the time and the keys were in her possession.
Police are still working to retrieve the stolen car.
In other police news:
- A 25-year-old Green Bay man was arrested for being intoxicated behind the wheel Thursday after police found him non-responsive but breathing in the driver’s seat of his car parked in the 4400 block of North Bartlett Avenue. Police later had the man perform field sobriety tests, which the man failed. He registered a .15 blood alcohol content during a Breathalyzer.
- A woman says she was punched in the face by a man while waiting at a bus stop at the intersection of East Edgewood Avenue and North Oakland Avenue on Tuesday. She denied medical treatment.
- A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Tuesday after police ran a plate displayed on his dashboard and the license plate, not the car, came back stolen. Police made the arrest at 2:22 a.m. in the 3900 block of North Holton Street. He was also cited for operating after suspension.
- A 23-year-old man with prior drunken driving convictions was taken into police custody Wednesday for driving without an ignition interlock device. Under the man’s prior convictions, he is limited to operating vehicles with IIDs. He was also cited for operating while revoked.
