Police Report: Drugs, Alcohol Found During Traffic Stops over Weekend

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested late Saturday night after police recovered .7 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia from his car during a traffic stop.

A Shorewood police squad stopped the man in the 3600 block of North Oakland Avenue for operating without headlights. An officer observed the pot in plain view along with a glass pipe and grinder, and the car smelled like burnt marijuana, according to the police report.

The same night, a 33-year-old Shorewood man was arrested after police say he reeked of alcohol and had an open beer in his car during a traffic stop.

The man was pulled over at 1:16 a.m. in the 3400 block of North Oakland Avenue for speeding, where police say he appeared disoriented.

He failed a subsequent sobriety test and elected to have a blood test instead of a breathalyzer. Police are waiting on the results of the test to determine the man’s blood alcohol concentration.
