Local Races Take Shape as Filing Deadline Passes
Four candidates file papers to run for three School Board seats; three candidates vie for two seats on Village Board.
With Wednesday's deadline to file candidacy paperwork history, four will vie for three seats on the School Board, and three candidates for two seats on the Village Board in the April 2 election.
Gregg Davis, 1901 E. Lake Bluff Blvd., and incumbents Paru Shah, 4259 N. Larkin Ave.; Board President Rob Reinhoffer, 4432 N. Wildwood Ave.; and Board Vice President Colin Plese, 2113 E. Lake Bluff Blvd. have filed papers to run for School Board.
Davis has never run for School Board in Shorewood, but has served on boards in the Chicago area, according to the superintendent's office. Shah was recently appointed to the board following Michael Mishlove's resignation.
School Board members serve three-year terms and earn $1,000 annually and the board president earns $1,200.
On the Village Board side, incumbent Trustee Patrick Linnane, 1511 E. Beverly Rd.; Tammy Bockhorst, 1617 E. Lake Bluff Blvd.; and Paul Zovic, 2504 E. Newton Ave. have all filed to run for trustee.
Bockhorst nor Zovic have ever run for trustee in the past; Zovic is a former School Board president.
Trustee Ellen Eckman, who currently holds one of the two Village Board seats up for re-election, announced in mid-December she would not seek re-election after 12 years on the Village Board.
Trustees serve three-year terms and make $1,000 annually.
If more than two people had filed for any post, then a primary would have been held Feb. 19. The general election is April 2.

What a blah slate of candidates. Guess it will continue to be a good old boys network of worthless leadership.

Well then, I guess it's a good thing that you don't live in Shorewood, so you don't need to worry about it. As usual.
