Homeowner Runs into Man Burglarizing House
Police say a burglar made off with a cable box, red leather bag and black purse containing a debit card, swipe key card and keys to Shorewood High School.
A Shorewood woman came upon a man in the act of burglarizing her home Monday night, according to police.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. police say the man used an unlocked front door to illegally enter the home on the 1800 block of East Jarvis Street. There he stole a black AT&T cable box, red leather bag and black purse containing a debit card, swipe key card and keys.
Officers were called and dispatched but were unable to locate the suspect.
A police investigation into the burglary is ongoing.
In the wake of a slew of home burglaries in the past several months, police are reminding residents to take measures to avoid becoming a victim including locking doors and windows and keeping porch and entranceways well-lit.

Was it wise to report what the keys were for?

One would think that the thief would be able to figure it out from the swipe card...
