Local progressive political group Grassroots Northshore has found a new home.
The volunteer-run organization announced this week it has opened its first official headquarters since its inception in 2004. It has set up shop at 325 W. Silver Spring Dr., above the Irina's Kitchen restaurant near Bayshore Town Center.
"For years we have operated out of people's homes, church basements and makeshift campaign headquarters," the group said in an email to members on Monday. "As of last week, thanks to the dedication of our steering committee, GRNS now has a home."
The group has more than 1,000 members from several North Shore communities including Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Glendale and Fox Point. The new headquarters will serve as a geographical center of the organization's membership territory.
"We will be better able to administer our operations and have small group informational meetings," the group said. "From here we will grow our membership."

"the group said"? Is this like quoting choir? Did the group say theses things in unison?
