Fox 6 Report: Local Con Man Bilked Investors Out of Life Savings
Prosecutor describes David Foley, a former co-owner of Sport 'n Cuts, as a "quintessential confidence man" with an "insatiable desire for easy money."
A former Whitefish Bay barber that is in prison for check-kiting duped his Whitefish Bay business partner and dozens of other business partners over the years out of their entire life savings, according to a Fox 6 investigation.
Fox 6's in-depth investigation into David Foley's criminal background aired Thursday night. The video features one-on-one interviews with some of Foley's business partners turned victims, including Rick Bystra of Sport 'n Cuts. Bystra is now trying to rebuild the business under a new name, Cutters.
Foley, 49, of Shorewood, was charged in November with six federal child pornography charges. He was also charged with five bail-jumping charges related to an unrelated identity theft conviction, for which he was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Fox 6 is also planning to interview the victims' families in the child pornography case and determine how the boy was able to be paired with Foley through Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Milwaukee.
