22-Piece Brew City Big Band to Swing in 'Summer Sounds' Series Finale

The group will rock Shorewood's venue by the Milwaukee River at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, wrapping up Shorewood's summer-long concert series.

Shorewood's summer-long concert series will wrap up Wednesday night at 6 with Brew City Big Band in Shorewood's Hubbard Park, 3565 N. Morris Blvd.

The Hubbard Park stage will host the local 22-piece band as they perform timeless classics and contemporary songs.

Brew City Big Band plays swing, Latin, polka, and waltz music, recreating the sounds of the 30s, 40s and 50s, according to the band's website.

The group also breaks down into smaller groups, including the Big Shots and Brew City Chasers — a seven-horn band performing rock, Latin, disco, pop, and country from the 50s through the 80s — and Beyond Top Shelf — a seven-piece variety band that plays rock, Latin, disco, pop, country, jump swing, and R&B from the 50s through the 2000s.

The series included free performances from jazz to blues, Irish to country, and every musical style in-between.

Assorted food and beverages will be sold; no carry-in alcohol is allowed.
